Three new books are released from “J Books & Media”

How are you?

The three new books, “In Search of World-Famous Artists” series, published by J Books & Media have started selling at J Art, Kyobo Bookstore, Aladin, and Yes24.

The In Search of World-Famous Artists” is one of the contents that I created and lectured while managing a culture & art space in Seoul, South Korea. It is a series of contents that introduced legendary figures who made historical marks in various culture and art fields besides the art, music, and film that I mainly wrote about. The culture and art fields introduced in the three new books are fashion, ballet, and modern dance.

The selected figures in the fashion field are “Coco Chanel” and “Elsa Schiaparelli.” Even those who do not know the fashion field will know the name of Coco Chanel, a French fashion designer, through the Chanel brand. Elsa Schiaparelli, a fashion designer from Italy who worked in Paris, was Coco Chanel's strongest rival at the time, but she is not well known to public. The reason for writing this book is to introduce the two legendary female fashion designers equally without bias, and especially to introduce Elsa Schiaparelli, who is not well known to public.

The selected figure in the ballet field is "Margot Fonteyn." Margot Fonteyn, a legendary dancer in the ballet field, is a British ballerina who spent her entire career as a dancer at the Royal Ballet and was appointed as the Prima ballerina assoluta of the ballet company by Queen Elizabeth II. She was an iconic figure in the British ballet, and her dance partnership with Rudolf Nureyev at the end of her career became a legend in the ballet field. This book covers Margot Fonteyn’s life and various stories, and introduces ballet terms necessary for understanding ballet.

The selected figure in the field of modern dance is “Isadora Duncan.” Isadora Duncan, known as the “Mother of Modern Dance,” was an American choreographer, teacher, revolutionary, and innovator who liberated dance from the constraints of ballet at the time, threw away slippers and corsets, and combined lively music with simple, natural movements. This book covers Isadora Duncan’s life and various stories, and introduces modern dance terms necessary for understanding modern dance.
