Opening of “Seungyong Chang’s Culture and Art Stories” Channel

How are you?

 

As I informed last week, I was selected as a Premium Contents Creator hosted by Naver Corp,. This week, I opened my channel in the Premium Contents Studio with the title of “Seungyong Chang’s Culture and Art Stories”.

In my channel, I am planning to introduce many stories about music, art, movies, wine, coffee, etc., which are various themes that I have planned and lectured.

The first theme of my channel this week is “Modigliani with Themes”.

I have been trying to make Modigliani known to more people through the promotion of Modigliani and his works while operating Modigliani Institute Korea (MIK).

Given my efforts, the first topic I wanted to do was about Modigliani.

Selected as a Premium Contents Creator supported by Naver Corp.

Today, I would like to share with you another good news that happened to me.

 

I was selected as a Premium Contents Creator hosted by Naver Corp. For a brief introduction to Naver Corp., it is a global ICT company, providing South Korea’s number one search portal "NAVER". In 2018, NAVER corp. was ranked as the 9th most innovative company by Forbes and top 6th Future 50 company by Fortune magazine.

 

“Premium Contents” is a contents sales platform supported by Naver Corp., through which contents creators can easily and conveniently publish and sell their own contents.

 

As I was selected as a Premium Contents Creator, I am currently preparing my platform channel and will open it next week. The name of the channel is “Seungyong Chang’s Culture and Art Stories”. Since it is a contents sales channel, I will publish contents that are different from those that are currently posting on social media.

 

I will inform you once again when my channel is opened.

Register as a writer on Naver People Selected by Naver Corp.

 

How are you?

Today I would like to share with you good news that happened to me this week.

A few days ago, I was registered as a writer on Naver People selected by Naver Corp.

For a brief introduction to Naver Corp., it is a global ICT company, providing South Korea’s number one search portal "NAVER". In 2018, NAVER corp. was ranked as the 9th most innovative company by Forbes and top 6th Future 50 company by Fortune magazine.

Therefore, to be selected as Naver People in South Korea is a great honor and also recognized as an official expert in the selected field.

Since I published my first book in May 2017 to start my career as a writer, I have been steadily writing books for over 5 years, and it seems to have come to fruition. In the meantime, I have published 5 books at Iseowon, 15 books at J Books and Media, and 8 books (in English version) at Amazon.

I am currently writing my 21st book (excluding the English version at Amazon), and the title of the book is “Interesting Art Stories”, which is being currently serialized on my SNS and receiving good responses. It is likely that the book will be published next month, in October.

I will publish Korean and English versions at the same time, and sell Korean version at Kyobo Books, Aladin, and Yes24 in South Korea, and English version at Amazon.

Once again, I feel great joy and gratitude for being registered as Naver People, and I will continue to write good books as a writer.

Interesting Art Stories: 79. Manuel Osorio Manrique de Zúñiga, Francisco Goya

 

How are you?

Currently, I am introducing the stories about various artists and their paintings with the title “Interesting Art Stories”.

The 79th story is the “Manuel Osorio Manrique de Zúñiga” by Francisco Goya.

“Manuel Osorio Manrique de Zúñiga” is a 1787-88 oil painting of the large full-length portrait by the Spanish artist Francisco Goya. The painting depicts a boy, standing in red clothes, with birds and cats. It is now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The painting was commissioned by Vicente Joaquín Osorio de Moscoso y Guzmán, the boy's father and conde de Altamira. He was one of the six dignitaries of the newly established Banco de San Carlos, painted by Goya between 1785 and 1788.

In 1786, Goya was nominated painter to Charles III, and from 1789 he continued as a court painter of his successor, Charles IV.

Conde de Altamira commissioned Goya for several family portraits, and the painting depicts his youngest son, Manuel. Goya also painted a portrait of his other son, Vicente Isabel Osorio de Moscoso y Álvarez de Toledo, and a portrait of his wife María Ignacia Álvarez de Toledo y Gonzaga with their daughter María Agustina.

The pets in this portrait have been interpreted in many different ways, one of which is the caged birds as innocent souls and the cats as evil forces. An example of this is Goya's showing a cat amongst the various creatures in his "The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters", part of "The Caprices".
