“When the City Turns Blue” – Smoky Female Vocal Jazz

There is a special kind of jazz that belongs to midnight.

Not the bright jazz of a crowded afternoon, but the quieter sound of rain against a window, dim streetlights, an old piano, and a female voice singing softly in the dark.

“When the City Turns Blue” is an original female vocal jazz song created around this atmosphere.

The song combines smoky female vocals, warm acoustic piano, upright bass, brushed drums, and muted trumpet. Its musical language draws from the intimate atmosphere associated with classic vocal jazz while using an original melody, lyrics, and arrangement.

The mood is romantic, sophisticated, nostalgic, and slightly melancholic.

It is music for late-night listening, rainy evenings, quiet cafés, romantic moments, reading, writing, or simply being alone with your thoughts.

“When Love Remains” – A Musical Journey Beyond “Crying Out Love, in the Center of the World”

What happens to love when the story has ended?

Does it disappear with time?

Or does it remain quietly inside our memories?

These questions inspired my latest original instrumental composition, “When Love Remains,” the 17th work in my ongoing music project “Music After the Film – A Journey Through Cinema & Sound.”

For this chapter, I chose the Japanese film “Crying Out Love, in the Center of the World,” directed by Isao Yukisada.

Rather than recreating the film's existing soundtrack, I wanted to create an entirely independent musical response to the emotional atmosphere of the story.

“The Spirit of Freedom” | “Liberty Leading the People” in Music

What if a great painting could be heard as music?

This question is at the heart of my ongoing creative project, “Melodies on Canvas – A Journey Through Art & Sound.”

For the 19th journey in this series, I chose one of Eugène Delacroix’s most celebrated works, “Liberty Leading the People.”

When I look at this painting, I do not see only a historical scene. I see movement, tension, courage, uncertainty, sacrifice, color and, above all, a powerful sense of human aspiration.

And I began to wonder:

What would this painting sound like?

That question became the starting point for my new original composition, “The Spirit of Freedom.”

“Listening to Masterpieces: Amedeo Modigliani” — A Love Story Told Through Art and Original Music

Amedeo Modigliani is remembered as one of the distinctive artists of early 20th-century Paris.

But behind his elongated portraits and unforgettable artistic style was another story — the story of his relationship with Jeanne Hébuterne.

I recently created my first Udemy course, “Listening to Masterpieces: Amedeo Modigliani,” to explore this story in a different way.

Rather than creating a conventional art-history lecture, I wanted to combine:

• Modigliani’s paintings and artistic world
• The story of Modigliani and Jeanne Hébuterne
• Storytelling
• Female narration
• And 10 original musical compositions that I wrote specifically for their story

The result is an artistic drama in which art, music and storytelling come together.

The course follows their journey from their meeting and love to separation through death and the idea of an eternal reunion.

This project has been particularly meaningful to me because the music was composed specifically for Modigliani and Jeanne.

“Where Love Remains” — Imagining the Music After “Calmi Cuori Appassionati”

There are some films that continue to live in our minds long after the screen goes dark.

Sometimes it is a particular scene.

Sometimes it is a place.

Sometimes it is a character.

And sometimes, it is simply the feeling of having loved someone and wondering what might have happened if time had been different.

That was the emotional starting point for “Where Love Remains,” the 16th composition in my musical series Music After the Film – A Journey Beyond the Screen.

For this episode, I turned my thoughts toward the 2001 romantic film “Calmi Cuori Appassionati.”

Rather than attempting to recreate the film's existing soundtrack, I wanted to explore something completely different:

What would the emotional memory of this love story sound like as an entirely new piece of music?

The answer became a cinematic romantic instrumental built around piano, violin, cello and warm orchestral strings.

“Where Love Remains” is an independent musical interpretation inspired by the emotions surrounding a story of love, separation, memory and reunion.
