I'm excited to share that I’ll be giving two special art lectures this month as part of the “Between Paintings and Scenes: Bridging with Humanities” program hosted by Yangju City.

About the Program:

“Édouard Manet” Online Lecture Now Available

I’m excited to announce that my new online lecture is now available on CLASSU!

This newly released lecture is the third installment of Season 2 of “The Great and Immortal Painters’ Stories”, and it features the artist Édouard Manet.

Édouard Manet was a French modernist painter, one of the first great modern artists of the 19th century, and a pivotal figure in the transition from Realism to Impressionism. His early masterworks, “The Luncheon on the Grass” and “Olympia”, caused great controversy with both critics and the Academy of Fine Arts, but soon were praised by progressive artists as the breakthrough acts to the new style, Impressionism. These works, along with others, are considered watershed paintings that mark the start of modern art.

In this lecture, I explore Manet’s life and works, introduce films featuring Manet, and recommend music to enhance the visual experience of his art. The course includes a visual appreciation of 132 works by Manet, accompanied by the recommended music.

New Horror Novel “The Crimson Veil” — Now Available

Over the years, I have been writing fiction manuscripts whenever time allowed, and starting this year, I have begun organizing and completing them for publication. As a result, I have published four volumes in the Modigliani novel series to date.

 

My writing has primarily focused on music, art, and film. In particular, my books about film have introduced art films centered on composers and painters. However, beyond art films, I’ve always enjoyed a wide range of genres—among them, horror films have held a special place in my heart.

 

Building on this long-standing interest, I plan to complete and publish a series of horror novels, based on manuscripts I’ve written over the years. The first installment of this new series is the horror novel “The Crimson Veil”, which has now been published and is available worldwide—in eBook, paperback, and audiobook formats—on Amazon and other major online bookstores.

 

Inspired by the atmosphere and visual language of classic Italian horror films, “The Crimson Veil” is set in a remote art school in Europe. The story follows the strange and unsettling experiences of a protagonist who arrives there, gradually drawing readers into a surreal world where art and madness, hallucination and reality blur together.
