There are some films that continue to live in our minds long after the screen goes dark.
Sometimes it
is a particular scene.
Sometimes it
is a place.
Sometimes it
is a character.
And sometimes,
it is simply the feeling of having loved someone and wondering what might have
happened if time had been different.
That was the
emotional starting point for “Where Love Remains,” the 16th
composition in my musical series Music After the Film – A Journey Beyond the
Screen.
For this
episode, I turned my thoughts toward the 2001 romantic film “Calmi Cuori
Appassionati.”
Rather than
attempting to recreate the film's existing soundtrack, I wanted to explore
something completely different:
What would
the emotional memory of this love story sound like as an entirely new piece of
music?
The answer
became a cinematic romantic instrumental built around piano, violin, cello and
warm orchestral strings.
“Where Love
Remains” is an
independent musical interpretation inspired by the emotions surrounding a story
of love, separation, memory and reunion.
