Time seems simple.
A minute is a minute. An hour is an hour. Yesterday becomes today,
and today eventually becomes tomorrow.
But memory tells a different story.
This strange relationship between time and memory is one of the
reasons Salvador Dalí’s “The Persistence of Memory” continues to
feel so fascinating.
The melting clocks seem to challenge our ordinary understanding of
time.
“What would time sound like if it could melt?”
That question became the inspiration for my new instrumental
composition, “Melting Hours.”
