What remains after a film ends?
For some people, it may be a particular scene. For others, a line of
dialogue, a character, or simply a feeling that is difficult to explain.
My new J Music project, “Music After the Film,” began with
that question.
For the 15th work in this 100-film journey, I chose Isshin Inudo’s
2003 Japanese film “Josee, the Tiger and the Fish.”
When I think about this film, I think about the beauty of love—and
the loneliness that can remain when love changes.
Two people meet.
They gradually enter each other’s worlds.
Ordinary moments become meaningful.
And eventually, those moments become memories.
That emotional journey became the inspiration for my new
composition:
