Lautrec was a French painter born
on November 24, 1864 and died on September 9, 1901, who is one of the most
famous Post-Impressionist painters along with Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh,
Paul Gauguin and Georges Seurat.

After moving to Paris in 1882, he studied from Léon Bonnat and was fascinated by Montmartre, famous for its bohemian lifestyle. Later, he moved to Fernand Cormon’s studio, where he met friends for the rest of his life. At this time, he also met Émile Bernard and Vincent van Gogh.

Lautrec met Suzanne Valadon in 1885, and he painted several
portraits of her and supported her ambition as an artist. It is said that the
two were lovers and she wanted to marry him, but when their relationship ended,
Valadon attempted suicide.
