How are
you?
Following
the last week, I am going to start my 78th lecture.
Today's
lecture is “Electro Symphonic”, the fifth topic of “New Age Music”, which is a
summary of the contents of “78. New Age Music: 5. Electro Symphonic” introduced
on March 11th, 2017.
Electro Symphonic, also known as “Neoclassical Music”, refers to music that expresses traditional Symphonies or Symphonic Poems as electronic sound. The music in this genre was influenced by early baroque or classical music, especially in melodies and compositions.
The artists in this genre, who mostly majored in
classical music, modernly arrange works of famous composers such as Bach,
Pachelbel, and Debussy, or compose by combining elements of classical music
with those of modern music. Although there is a wide range of personal styles,
this genre generally combines traditional and electronic musical instruments
and has many melodic instrumental compositions.
The famous
musicians in this genre include American neoclassical dark wave and dark
ambient music duo Nox Arcana; American music producer, composer, arranger,
conductor and pianist Paul Schwartz; Norwegian classical/world music musician
Øystein Sevåg; Swiss harpist Andreas Vollenweider; American neoclassical New
Age music group Mannheim Steamroller; American guitar, lute and keyboard player
and composer Ray Lynch; American singer, experimental musical instrument
inventor, painter, sculptor and multimedia producer Constance Demby; Japanese
composer and one of the pioneers of electronic and space music Isao Tomita, and
German musician and composer Christopher Franke.
