How are
you?
Following
the last week, I am going to start my 80th lecture.
Today's
lecture is “Meditation”, the 7th topic of “New Age Music”, which is a summary
of the contents of “80. New Age Music: 7. Meditation” introduced on March 25th,
2017.
For centuries, the methodology of bringing the mind and body to unity through sound has been passed down in both East and West, saying "the mind and body are strongly stimulated by a fast and loud sound, while a slow and quiet sound maintains stability, and through a very slow and low sound, a calm and balanced conscious state of mind and body can be maintained.” The music that falls into this category is “Meditation Music”.
Karlheinz Stockhausen, avant-garde
musician, says Mantra, the rhyme of Hindu prayers, affects not only the human
mind, but also parts of the human body, which are effective in treating
diseases.
Recently,
as a method of treating diseases with music that stimulates human’s emotions,
traditional Zen thoughts or meditation through yoga from the East are being
used.
The
representative artists in this genre include Kim Robertson, a Celtic harpist
born in the United States; Aeoliah, a New Age musician who was born in Germany
and grew up in the United States, and is a multi-instrumentalist and famous for
developing healing techniques using music; Liquid Mind, an American composer,
producer and Emmy nominee; Deuter, a German-born New Age musician famous for
the meditation music blending Eastern and Western music; and Llewellyn, a New
Age musician with a Welsh royal descent based on traditional Celtic melodies.
